
Selection Process & Guidelines
Awards are open to African American females, age 16
or higher who are high school seniors or currently
attending a 4-year college or university. Students
applying for scholarships must be a high school senior
or enrolled in college in the United States at the time of
the application. Graduate students are not eligible. At
least one $300 award is made annually. (Scholarship will resume in 2012).
Awards
The UnSilenced Woman Press Scholarship is
renewable. Awards are paid in one installment, and
mailed to the student's home address at least two
weeks prior to the upcoming semester. Checks are
made payable to recipient.
Deadlines
Applications for the 11-12 Scholarship must be
postmarked by July 1, 2012. For an application email

Selection Process
Scholarship recipients are selected according to merit
on a competitive basis. In addition, applicants must
demonstrate career and academic potential measured
by a combination of factors, including past performance
and career objectives.
Notification
Although we would love to inform all applicants of their
status, unfortunately due to budget restraints, this is not
feasible. Only the selected recipient will be contacted by
the scholarship committee.
